Everyone we talk with wants to know what we can do TODAY to lessen our impact. With 60% of our wardrobes made from petroleum, it is hard to scrap it all and start over.

We are sharing some of the actions we are taking in our personal lives and hope you will join us in taking action in your own wardrobe.

TAKE OUR SHORT SURVEY BELOW.

WHAT CAN WE DO TODAY?

SOME NOT SO FUN FACTS:

There are 500 times more pieces of plastic floating in the ocean than stars in our galaxy.

Plastic microfibers are in every ecosystem, from the deepest ocean trenches, to the top of Mt Everest, to our own bodies.

700,000 microfibers are released on average from washing one load of acrylic garments. Three times as many are released from our dryer vents.

An estimated 551,155 tons of plastic microfibers pollute the ocean annually, equal to 50 billion plastic bottles

Each of us will eat up to 40 pounds of these polluting plastics in our lifetime. These fibers accumulate additional environmental pollutants linked to serious health issues.

Hear from others who are taking action in their wardrobes.

Through an interactive loom at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, we were able to hear from the community, and learn what they will be practicing in their own wardrobes.
