From her previous life as a luxury fashion designer, it is apparent that Maria Intscher-Owrang, co-founder of Simplifyber, brings a heightened aesthetic approach and thoughtful level of detail to her business. From the array of finished textures and forms they are molding to show prototypes, to the explorations of surfaces that could be used in a myriad of applications, this “fabric” has incredible potential to shift how we make the things we wear. With a focus on 100% biodegradability, this cellulose-based material is being “formed” into clothing and accessories that will disrupt the tradition of cut and sew.
“Natural fibers to make three-dimensional objects...without the need for yarn, fabric, cutting and sewing.”

“ [The fashion industry is] using outdated techniques from the first industrial revolution to make everything…what we’re offering is a completely new approach.
